Opioid Use Disorder

What is Opioid Use Disorder?

Opioid use disorder (OUD) is a chronic (lifelong) medical condition where people use opioids in a way that may lead to harm. They often feel the need to use these drugs even when knowing the risks. Over time, they may need more to feel the same effect and can become sick without them. OUD can result in health issues, accidental overdoses, and death.

I think I might have OUD. What can be done?

An expert doctor in OUD will meet with you in a private office to get to know you better. We may recommend treatment with FDA approved medication, some of which can be started in the comfort of your home.

What types of Medication Assisted Therapy options are offered?

  • Oral medications (like Suboxone and Buprenorphine)

  • Injections (like Vivitrol and Sublocade)
